When I was in high school, I used to come up to Madison every Saturday to play in WYSO and would wander around library mall and State St to see what was going on. One of those times I stumbled on Harvest Fest and for the first time learned who Ben Masel was.

Years later The Kissers landed a weekly Monday night gig at O'Cayz Corral and Ben would frequently come down.

This song was released on the now discontinued first Kissers CD "On a Monday Night," which was recorded live at O'Cayz. For me it was the beginning of a phase of writing songs with many many lyrics (a phase I'm still arguably in).

There are many references in the lyrics--but Ben and Harvest Fest are in there. Thanks for gracing us with your presence, Ben. We'll miss you.
